Subject: Re: Bernard
I have set your registration online to be eligible for the 10% discount. You will see that shipping costs are estimated for the US, and we will provide a more firm estimate once we have your measurements. However, realistically, a two-wheel cart of this side will cost $360-$400 to ship and a four-wheel cart will be more expensive. The previous email inadvertently indicated that this price would be for 3-day shipping, which was overly optimistic.
As Dr. Parkes indicated, the cost of a four-wheel cart would be US$800 (or US$720 after your 10% discount.) While we do often add front wheels on at a later date, this would be quite difficult to do long distance for such a large wheelchair. Thus, we would prefer to error on the side of caution and ship a four-wheel cart since it appears unlikely that your dog will have sufficient strength, at least initially, to use a two-wheel cart for any extended period of time. If you later no longer need the front wheels, you will be able to remove them and use the rear wheels only as a two-wheel cart. You will see online that there is no option to order a 125+ lb. four-wheel cart. Thus, if you are still in a wheelchair for Bernard, please just order a two-wheel cart and add a note stating you want a four-wheel cart when you check-out and agree to the above price. We can just ship a two-wheel cart, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to add additional wheels at a later date and get a good fit. The final decision will rest with you.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions.
