Charcoal passed away suddenly this evening.
Siew Ying recalled, “Charcoal has good appetite till yesterday. Last night when I was feeding her, she was not keen on the food. So I stopped and fed her chicken pieces. Her eyes were telling me something.. frown emoticon Good to go this way. No suffering. There were traces of “black stools near her body. She saw a vet not too long ago and blood tests indicated borderline anaemia.”
“Charcoal was bailed out from AVA’s death-row by Meng Hwee (a volunteer)’s friend, Serene . She was caught at Lavender Street. If I am not mistakened, some people at the temple at the junction of Lavender Street and Kallang Road, complaint of her presence.
A year or so later, her son was also trapped and sent to be terminated at the AVA. He too was bailed out and given refuge at the shelter. By the time he came in, he didn’t recognise his mother.”
